The EDUCA EDTECH Foundation has published a groundbreaking study analysing the role of digital training in employment opportunities in Spain and Latin America
Education is once again at the heart of change. As we find ourselves in the midst of an unprecedented transformation in education and the world of work, the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation, an organisation committed to social equality through education, which is part of EDUCA EDTECH Group, presents its first international white paper, “The role of online education in employment opportunities in Spain and Latin America”. The study is a pioneering effort in shedding light on how digital training is transforming prospects for employability and career development on both sides of the Atlantic.
A snapshot of the future of work
According to the World Economic Forum’s January 2025 report, between 2025 and 2030, 170 million new jobs will be created and 92 million will be lost, leaving a net gain of 78 million new opportunities. However, the pace of this transformation raises a crucial question: Are professionals prepared to adapt to this change?
The study by the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation addresses this question through a international survey carried out in Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Peru, involving people from a range of backgrounds, focusing on: students, human resources professionals and academic leaders.
The results show a growing consensus on the strategic role of online education. 71.69% of respondents worldwide stated that online training was a key factor in their promotion, demonstrating its direct influence on professional development.
Furthermore, 58,12% of companies worldwide have already adopted a hybrid training model (online and face-to-face), confirming it as the predominant format for corporate and academic learning
An overview of the perceptions, challenges and opportunities arising from online education as a pathway to employability and inclusion in the labour market.
Data that inspires action
The white paper not only analyses trends, but also proposes an active interpretation of change. Through its interactive visualisations and comparative analyses, the report shows how digital education is helping to bridge regional divides, to open up new opportunities for professional retraining and to promote the integration into the labour market of groups that have traditionally been excluded.
In the words of Jaime Martín Sánchez, responsible for the research, coordination and drafting of the study, and CMO of EDUCA EDTECH Group:
“This study reflects the group’s commitment to research and knowledge transfer. Online education is not just an alternative: it is the driving force behind more inclusive and global employability.”
For its part, the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation reaffirms its mission to “bridging digital divides and building a more equitable society through learning”, combining rigorous research with the practical application of educational technology.
A milestone for the EDUCA EDTECH ecosystem
The publication of the white paper marks a turning point in the history of the Foundation and the educational group, which is internationally recognised for its commitment to technology with a purpose and the EDUCA LXP methodology, based on personalised learning through artificial intelligence.
“Our aim is to turn challenges into opportunities. ”We believe that data only makes sense if it drives real action, and this report has been produced precisely for that purpose: to guide institutions, companies and professionals in building a fairer and more accessible future for the world of work through knowledge,” concludes Viridiana López, director of the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation.
