Furthermore, the leading technology group in online education has so far this year achieved a significant improvement in its energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions compared with 2023. This clearly demonstrates the success of the ESG initiatives proposed by the group.
Environmental fake news: myth versus reality
The fake news The concept has become more popular over the years. Whilst it is true that they have always existed, the ease with which they are created and disseminated – thanks to the technological network that surrounds us – is particularly striking today.
The EDUCA EDTECH Foundation has set out to put an end to these hoaxes and to promote accurate and verified information. This is why we have asked our more than 800 employees about their perception of the environment and the information relating to them in this regard.
If we analyse the data, more than half of the respondents do not distinguish between fake news and accurate information. These figures are worrying, particularly in terms of public awareness and the fight against climate change.
In addition, 70% of respondents admit that they could incorporate more activities into their daily lives to benefit the environment .
As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, we wanted to do our bit by providing accurate and expertly verified information to put an end to misinformation.
Myth: Climate change is not the result of human activity
Our ESG María Maestra, an expert, says that although there have been climate changes in the past, the current one is mainly caused by greenhouse gases produced by the burning of fossil fuels.
Renewable energy: a safe bet for the environment
There is also a lot of fake news going round renewable energy. At EDUCA EDTECH Group, we plan to increase our photovoltaic capacity and promote self-consumption, which currently stands at 30%.
All with the aim of backing renewable energies, which are clean, inexhaustible and highly profitable.
Myth: everything gets mixed up in the recycling lorry
Another of the great environmental hoaxes is the ineffectiveness of recycling.
Maria Maestra explains why the waste we put in the different bins does not get mixed up. She also emphasises the importance of recycling and reducing our waste, as well as highlighting the Paperless initiative Paperless initiative an initiative of the EDUCA EDTECH Group.
