On 5 June, the 2nd AiBot Experience Gala took place in the Paraninfo Auditorium at the University of Granada, where it became very clear that girls are also interested in science and technology.
The 2nd AiBot Experience Gala, held on 5 June, could be described as the passionate gaze of each of the girls who presented their sustainable technology projects. This event not only showcased these young women’s innovative creations, but also sent out a clear and moving message: Girls are crazy about technology.
The event brought together 400 schoolchildren aged between 8 and 12 where they presented their robotics and artificial intelligence projects. The projects were also focused on sustainability and the environment.
Automatic rubbish bins, self-sufficient stadiums, automated drying systems, smart forests and urban climate shelters are just some of the projects presented at AiBot Experience. The common thread running through all these projects is to gain an in-depth understanding of how robotics and artificial intelligence can be key to achieving a more sustainable world.
Widespread participation
Eleven teams from schools in various towns across the province of Granada have taken part in this a six-month project. The initiative has also been supported by the The Granada Chamber of Commerce, the AI Granada Research & Innovation Foundation, the University of Granada (UGR) and the Granada Technology Circle.
Furthermore, the event has received significant sponsorship, with particular mention due to that of the EDTECH Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to to make education more accessible, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to benefit from the most advanced educational technologies.
Specifically, it is firmly committed to promoting gender equality, with a focus on the professional development of girls in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Their support has taken the form of various initiatives designed to inspire and empower young women to pursue careers in these fields.
A shared passion for technology
The AiBot Experience was created with a clear aim, which is to promote careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from an early age, particularly amongst girls.
At this year’s event, it has become abundantly clear that the passion for Science and technology know no age limits and, of course, no gender limits. Throughout the presentation of the projects, the presence of women in all of them is evident, and even more so is the enthusiasm of a group of girls who proudly show off their work and their passion for learning much more about this subject.
Granada and its love affair with technology
Every city has its own technology; Granada has its own – and that of all the others.
This adaptation of Antonio Machado’s famous line would sum up the situation in the Nasrid city today very well. The AiBot Experience is simply yet another event demonstrating the city’s clear commitment to technology.
In this regard, as is the case with this event, an increasing number of organisations are turning to the technology sector, as is the case with EDUCA EDTECH Group and the institutions that are joining forces to establish the province as a leading centre in this sector.
