At the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation, we work every day to to promote a clean and sustainable future, which is why we focus on the issues that generate the most controversy, often leading to misconceptions due to a lack of information.
Furthermore, the leading technology group in online education has managed, so far this year, to significantly improve its self-consumption and greenhouse gas emissions figures compared with 2023. This is clear evidence of the effectiveness of the ESG measures implemented by the group.
Environmental fake news: myth vs reality
The concept fake news They have become increasingly popular over the years. Whilst it is true that they have always been around, what stands out today is the ease with which they are created and shared, thanks to the technological network that surrounds us.
EDUCA EDTECH Foundation has set out to put an end to these hoaxes and to promote accurate, verified information. This is why we have asked our more than 800 employees because of their perception of the environment and the information surrounding them in this regard.
If we analyse the data, more than half of those surveyed do not distinguish between a fake news and accurate information. These figures are cause for concern, particularly in terms of raising awareness and combating climate change.
Furthermore, the 70% of respondents They admit that they could incorporate more activities into their daily routine to benefit the environment.

Myth: Climate change is not caused by human activity
Our expert in ESG, María Maestra, states that, although there have been climate changes in the past, the current one is mainly caused by the greenhouse gases resulting from the burning of fossil fuels.
Renewable energy: a safe bet for the environment
There is also a great deal of fake news circulating about the renewable energy. At EDUCA EDTECH Group, we plan to increase our photovoltaic capacity and promote the self-consumption, which currently stands at 30%.
All with a view to committing to renewable energy, which are clean, inexhaustible and highly cost-effective.
Myth: everything gets mixed together in the recycling lorry
Another major environmental hoax is the ineffectiveness of the recycling.
