On 13 November, the EDUCA EDTECH building in Maracena brought together professionals from the fields of education, technology and innovation for the presentation of the White Paper 2025: “The role of online education in employment opportunities in Spain and Latin America”: ”Challenges and opportunities for digital education in the workplace in the coming years’, produced by the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation.
The event reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to rigorous research and the dissemination of knowledge on the impact of the digitalisation of education on employment. The event provided an opportunity to share the report’s main findings and highlight how online learning is establishing itself as a key tool for employability and professional development.
A study to understand the new educational paradigm
The white paper provides a clear overview of the process of educational transformation currently taking place in Spain and Latin America. Online education is no longer an alternative, but an established reality: E-learning is the preferred format for 41,61% of employees in corporate environments, reflecting a profound shift in training dynamics.
Throughout the study, we analyse how Digitalisation is redefining the way we learn and access employment opportunities, with particular emphasis on lifelong learning, the acquisition of new skills and the democratisation of access to knowledge.
As Viridiana López Rodríguez, director of the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation, emphasised: «Our role is to act as a bridge: between research and action, between knowledge and opportunity. We believe that the future of employment is built through education, and that purpose-driven education is the fairest way to transform society.»
Spain and Latin America: common challenges, shared opportunities
One of the report’s main themes is the joint analysis of Spain and Latin America, two regions that face similar challenges: the digital divide, the need for teacher training in the use of technology, the formal recognition of online skills, and unequal access to internet connectivity.
Despite this, the opportunities are clear: Digital learning continues to grow and establish itself as a means of enhancing employability. 71,69% of respondents worldwide stated that online training was a key factor in their promotion, confirming its direct impact on professional development.
Rafael García-Parrado, vice-president of the Foundation and CEO of EDUCA EDTECH Group, emphasised: «This study is our group’s contribution to a challenge that is of vital importance to us: democratising access to education and putting an end to social inequalities.»
Online education as a driver of inclusion and employability
Digital training has become a strategic component within companies. The study reveals that the 71,34% of companies prioritise upskilling, primarily in technological and digital skills.
This figure highlights the need for flexible training models that are adapted to the rapid changes in the labour market.
Furthermore, 58,12% of companies have adopted hybrid training models, establishing blended learning as the standard approach.
Formats are also evolving: 63,06% of organisations prefer short courses aimed at immediate results, in line with the demand for more flexible learning experiences.
Quality, certification and trust: the keys to the future
Beyond the opportunities, the study also invites us to reflect on the challenges that still lie ahead. The quality of education, the validation of skills acquired in digital environments and the regulation of training provision are areas that require increasing attention in order to ensure trust and transparency.
From the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation The aim is to move towards educational models based on transparency, pedagogical quality and methodological innovation, where technology is not an end in itself, but a tool to enhance learning.
A commitment to educational research and innovation
The presentation of the white paper forms part of the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation’s commitment to applied research and the generation of knowledge in digital education.
In recent years, the organisation has developed initiatives focused on the digitalisation of teaching, analysing the impact of e-learning and creating collaborative learning communities.
With this new study, The organisation reaffirms its role as a leading player in analysing trends and promoting strategies that link education to the needs of the world of work.
An invitation to think about the future
The white paper is more than just an analysis of the present: It is an invitation to think about the future. Online education will continue to grow, broadening the horizons of learning and creating opportunities for individuals, businesses and institutions.
The EDUCA EDTECH Foundation remains committed to inclusive, innovative and sustainable digital education, capable of reducing inequalities and improving employability in a constantly changing world.
