To mark the International Volunteer Week, the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation and Madre Coraje Association have organised a clothing donation campaign to help those in need, in which a total of 180 kg of clothes have been collected.
This initiative has been implemented from 15 April to 3 May and the funds raised will be used to support social projects, to provide assistance to institutions in need, or to be given to companies specialising in the recovery of second-hand clothing for recycling or reuse. These funds will be distributed to those who need them most.
Volunteering Week, the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation and Madre Coraje joined forces
To mark International Volunteer Week, the EDUCA EDTECH Group has organised a clothing donation campaign, thanks to which a total of 180 kilos of clothes have been collected, which will be used for humanitarian aid projects in Peru, Mozambique and Spain. This has been carried out in accordance with the following approach, so as not to waste any resources.
Once the clothing has been handed over to the charity, it goes through a recycling process:
- If the clothing has a label, it is sent to the communities with which the association works, to be distributed to those most in need.
- If the clothes do not have a label, they are sold at their regular flea markets for a nominal price. The funds raised will be used to support social projects.
- If it is not possible to sell the clothes, they will be donated to organisations in Spain that need them, or given to companies specialising in the collection of second-hand clothes for recycling or reuse.
An opportunity to come together as a team and make a positive impact on society.
Other initiatives by the EDUCA EDTECH Group and Madre Coraje
This is not the first time that the two organisations have worked closely together; earlier this year they ran a toy donation campaign which was very well received and saw widespread participation from EDUCA EDTECH Group staff, managing to collect more than 160 toys.
These were intended for children in the most deprived areas of Peru, Mozambique and Grenada, helping to ensure their right to be children and to foster the excitement and joy of receiving new toys.
EDUCA EDTECH Group is made up of a group of experienced and renowned international online educational institutions. All the organisations that make up the group share the mission of democratising access to education and are committed to knowledge transfer, technological development and research.
