A recent example of this commitment is UNIVERGEM, a digital marketing training programme developed in partnership with the University of Granada (UGR) and funded by the Andalusian Institute for Women.

What is the UNIVERGEM programme?

UNIVERGEM is an initiative organised by the University of Granada’s Employment Service through the EDUCA EDTECH Group, which connects female students at the University of Granada with real companies in the sector to gain work experience that is relevant to the labour market. In this intake, nine female students took part in a 56-hour programme focusing on digital marketing, combining theory with a real-world practical project.

For the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation, partnerships of this kind are a practical way of promoting women’s employability: providing high-quality digital training to women who are taking their first steps in the world of work, in a digital sector where the gender gap remains significant.

Training with an impact: theory and a real-world project

Over a two-week period (from 9 to 23 July), the pupils have combined theoretical sessions delivered by practising professionals in the sector: CMOs, SEO managers, social media, SEM and branding specialists, faced with a practical challenge: to design a real-life marketing campaign for Euroinnova International Online Education, an educational institution within the EDUCA EDTECH Group with over 500,000 graduates and international recognition.

The project covered the entire process of a professional campaign, from the creative concept to the measurement of results. The approach remained consistent throughout: that every decision should have a real and measurable impact.

Why is the digital divide also a gender divide?

Unequal access to digital training continues to limit employment opportunities for many women.

Programmes such as UNIVERGEM aim to reverse this trend through specialised training, direct mentoring and real-world projects that provide professional experience even before students graduate. That is why the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation is focusing on this type of partnership: Bridging the digital divide is not just about providing access to technology, but about ensuring that training is available on an equal footing.

Support that begins from day one

Before the students arrived, the Foundation’s team prepared a welcome pack, a bookmark, a tote bag, a notebook and a pencil, as a symbolic gesture of support. Because every first step into the world of work deserves to be met with warmth, not just a training programme.

The nine participants in this year’s event come from, in addition to a wide variety of profiles drawing on international experience, social volunteering, and technical and multilingual training – all of which reflect UNIVERGEM’s aim: that access to digital training should not depend on an individual’s starting point.

Talent should not depend on access to training

UNIVERGEM demonstrates that education has a much greater impact when it is accompanied by real opportunities and a clear social purpose. At the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation, we remain committed to programmes that bring together universities, businesses and social missions, because talent should not depend on the access each person has to technology or training.

La reducción de la brecha digital es uno de los ejes centrales de la misión de la Fundación EDUCA EDTECH.
