The new initiative, the Academic Excellence Awards, will bring international recognition to five Master\u2019s dissertations or doctoral theses that stand out for their quality, rigour and innovation. The selected projects may be published in the Journal of Educational Innovation, and their authors will be granted access to the International Week and receive an official certificate to strengthen their personal brand.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A good piece of academic work should not simply end up in a university repository or as a final mark. Sometimes, behind a Master\u2019s dissertation or a doctoral thesis lie months of reading, doubts, hypotheses, interviews, analysis, long nights and a question that cannot be resolved by a mark: So what happens now with all this knowledge?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was with that idea in mind that Awards for Academic Excellence<\/strong>, the new initiative from EDUCA EDTECH Foundation<\/strong> to identify, recognise and raise the international profile of academic work that offers a unique, rigorous and innovative perspective within its field of knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition will recognise five outstanding works<\/strong>, one for each area of specialisation, with the aim of ensuring that academic talent continues beyond the classroom and can find new opportunities for visibility, outreach and professional networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five areas for recognising research talent\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Awards for Academic Excellence<\/strong> is aimed at students with a mark higher than 8<\/strong> who have completed a Master\u2019s thesis or a doctoral thesis that makes a distinctive contribution. The initiative seeks projects that clearly explain the research framework, justify the relevance of the chosen topic, summarise the main objectives and present a coherent methodology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards will be organised into five main categories: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Exact and Natural Sciences<\/strong>: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences and Astronomy.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Biological and Health Sciences<\/strong>: Biology, Medicine, Biomedicine, Genetics, Neuroscience and Public Health.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Education and Learning Sciences<\/strong>: Pedagogy, Didactics, Educational Innovation, Educational Assessment and Educational Technology.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        • Information and Communication Technologies<\/strong>: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cybersecurity and Data Science.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          • Social and Legal Sciences<\/strong>: Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Law, International Relations and Demography.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            The assessment will not focus solely on the final result, but also on the student\u2019s ability to to present their work clearly, thoroughly and concisely<\/strong>. In this regard, the competition will place particular emphasis on the quality of the report, its methodological rigour, the originality of its approach and the ability to transform academic research into a contribution with long-term impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Aim: to turn academic effort into opportunity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            The five selected papers will receive a range of benefits designed to boost their academic and professional visibility. These include, in particular, the publication of the paper in the Journal of Educational Innovation<\/strong>, a platform for dissemination linked to reflection, research and the exchange of knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            In addition, each student recognised will receive a an 800-euro SIM grant<\/strong>, a Go to International Week<\/strong> and a official certificate<\/strong> which they can include in their professional profile, particularly on platforms such as LinkedIn, where personal branding and evidence of academic ability are becoming increasingly important. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \u201cWe want the best academic work not to be reduced to just a mark. We want it to reach a wider audience, to be read, to spark discussion and to help its authors open up new opportunities,\u201d said Viridiana L\u00f3pez, Director of the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Academic excellence also needs visibility\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            Through this initiative, the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation is reinforcing its commitment to an education that not only facilitates access to knowledge, but also recognises the effort, the research and the ability to make an impact<\/strong> from the academic world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Recognising a Master\u2019s thesis or a doctoral thesis is not merely a matter of rewarding the document itself. It is about valuing a way of looking at a problem, of asking questions and of seeking answers with discernment. It is about remembering that behind every piece of research there is a person who has devoted time, energy and knowledge to making their own contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
