He is Dr Isidoro Gonz\u00e1lez Gallego, Professor Emeritus of Social Sciences Education at the University of Valladolid. His approach combines applied research, pedagogical innovation and subject-specific training, contributing both to scientific knowledge and to the improvement of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Education and early achievements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Gonz\u00e1lez obtained a degree in Philosophy and Arts from the University of Valladolid. He subsequently undertook doctoral studies focusing on the teaching of history. His doctoral thesis was pioneering in its approach and made a significant contribution to laying the foundations for historical literacy. He also promoted research into various active methodologies in social sciences education.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His career has had a significant impact on teacher training and educational innovation in Spain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Career and key contributions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout his career, Dr Gonz\u00e1lez has held positions of great significance in the academic world. He was Professor of Social Sciences Education at the University of Valladolid and has helped to train several generations of teachers by delivering seminars and courses and through various continuing professional development programmes.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her work at the university is not confined to the classroom; it has been complemented by extensive research. She focuses on building students\u2019 historical literacy, developing participatory methodologies and integrating digital resources into the teaching of history and the social sciences.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has authored numerous publications, including more than 250 books and scientific articles, and has given lectures at more than 20 universities across different continents. He has also taken part in many national and international conferences.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, Dr Gonz\u00e1lez has held important positions in educational administration. One of the most notable of these was his role as Vice-Chancellor of the Isabel I of Castile International University. Other highlights of his professional career include his posts as Provincial Director of Education for Salamanca and Valladolid, as well as Director-General of the Teachers\u2019 Institute at the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vision and contribution to the Foundation\u2019s project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The appointment of Dr Gonz\u00e1lez Gallego to the EDUCA EDTECH Foundation Committee brings considerable value. Dr Gonz\u00e1lez\u2019s extensive experience in teacher training, his in-depth knowledge of social sciences pedagogy and his track record in educational innovation are perfectly aligned with the project\u2019s mission, vision and values.\u00a0His interdisciplinary approach reinforces the Foundation\u2019s aim of integrating different areas of knowledge, research and technology in order to generate a significant social impact.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His profile reinforces one of the Foundation\u2019s core principles, which is based on fostering critical thinking. In doing so, he helps to improve students\u2019 historical understanding and social literacy.
