{"id":2770,"date":"2024-10-17T09:09:08","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T09:09:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/educaedtech.foundation\/?p=2770"},"modified":"2024-10-17T09:09:08","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T09:09:08","slug":"edtech-generation-the-man-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/educaedtech.foundation\/en\/articulos\/generacion-edtech-proyecto-hombre\/","title":{"rendered":"Manuel Mingorance: \u00abIt\u2019s about healing, supporting and bringing life\u00bb"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>In this third episode of Generaci\u00f3n EdTech, Manuel Mingorance, director and chairman of Proyecto Hombre Granada, explains the organisation\u2019s approach to the rehabilitation of people with addiction problems.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded in 2000, Proyecto Hombre Granada has a track record of <strong>more than 20 years<\/strong> working day in, day out to treat and prevent addiction in this province. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this occasion, we are joined by <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/M3-v5aTfpw0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>EdTech Generation<\/strong> <\/a><strong>Manuel Mingorance, chairman of Proyecto Hombre Granada<\/strong>. in a conversation centred on the issue of addiction in today\u2019s world. Throughout the interview, which is <strong>Available on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts<\/strong>, Mingorance highlights how addictions have evolved, bringing together both the \u00abold ghosts\u00bb \u2013 such as alcohol and drugs \u2013 and the<strong> \u00abnew addictions\u00bb <\/strong>technology-related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abWe live in a society of constant stimuli that seeks immediate gratification. We rely on consuming all sorts of things \u2013 whether they are substances or not \u2013 just to keep up. This will lead to problems in a few years\u00bb time.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But we\u2019re not just talking about the future; the president of Proyecto Hombre also analyses the current situation, which is characterised by the <strong>\u00ablack of public outcry\u00bb <\/strong>and a lack of awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abIn the 1980s, there was a real public outcry, and that led to the formation of many organisations. Today, that outcry no longer exists, but there is a very serious problem with addiction. There are thousands upon thousands of people who  have an addiction problem and do not seek help, which can lead to suicide. In 2002, there were 4,003 suicides, which shows a failure to deal with these problems.\u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mingorance helps us to<strong> to outline the different profiles of a person with an addiction<\/strong>. With a marked difference between men and women in the province, of <strong>a 19% compared with the 81% for men.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abI believe that, deep down, an addict is someone who is out of step with their surroundings. From a young age, they may have experienced family breakdown, been bullied or suffered from low self-esteem. They have not had sufficient personal and social skills to cope with life.\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding the recovery rates and the programmes being run by Proyecto Hombre, its chairman tells us that they may have a <strong>lasting around a year and a half,<\/strong> until he is given the <strong>high therapeutic value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abWhen we discharge a patient following treatment, there is an 85% success rate with no relapse, and the majority reintegrate into society and the workplace. A person who has fallen and got back up is stronger than one who has never fallen.\u00ab<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To conclude, Manuel Mingorance calls on us to reconsider the current situation.
